Das Unternehmen Wanderer war ein bedeutender deutscher Hersteller
von Motorrädern, Autos, Lieferwagen und Fahrrädern. Heute ist
die WANDERER-Werke AG eine Finanzholding ohne eigenen
Geschäftsbetrieb.
Die Wurzeln von Wanderer gehen bis in das Jahr 1885 zurück. In
diesem Jahr gründeten Johann Baptist Winklhofer und Richard Adolf
Jaenicke in Chemnitz (Sachsen) die am 26. Februar 1885 ins
Handelsregister eingetragene Gesellschaft
"Chemnitzer-Velociped-Depot Winklhofer & Jaenicke"
zur Reparatur von Fahrrädern, wenig später bauten sie selber
welche. Um 1900 war Wanderer zu einem bedeutenden Unternehmen auf
dem Fahrradmarkt geworden und hielt verschiedene Patente, unter
anderem für die erste deutsche Zweigang-Nabenschaltung. Etwa in
dieser Zeit wurde die Produktion auf Werkzeugmaschinen,
"Continental"-Schreib- und -Rechenmaschinen, Motorräder
und Autos ausgeweitet und 1894 in Schönau bei Chemnitz dafür ein
neues Werk aufgebaut.
Das erste Motorrad wurde 1902 gebaut, 1905 kam der erste Auto-Prototyp "Wanderermobil",
1907 kam der zweite Prototyp und 1911 wurde dann auf dem Berliner
Autosalon der Wanderer 5/12 PS Typ W1 gezeigt. 1912 konnte die
Automobilproduktion aufgenommen werden.

Warszawa was a Polish automobile marque manufactured from 1951 to
1973 by the FSO car factory of Warsaw. Named after the city of
Warsaw, the Warszawa was identical to the Soviet Pobeda, built
under license. The Warszawa was the first new-design Polish car
built after the Second World War. Warszawas were popular as taxis
because of their sturdiness and ruggedness. However, due to their
weight they were underpowered and had high fuel consumption. In
total, 254,471 cars were made.

Mit dem Beach Buggy fing das Abenteuer an. 28 Jahre ist es her,dass
Jürg Weinem den Handelsregistereintrag für seine automobilen
Tätigkeiten beantragte. Er und seine Frau waren anfangs 1972
Pächter einer Tankstelle in Thalwil.Diese Tätigkeit füllte ihn
(voller Tatendrang) nur bedingt aus.

A much more ambitious project called the Witkar was launched in
Amsterdam by the founders of the 1968 white bicycles project. A
sophisticated project based on small electric vehicles, electronic
controls for reservations and return, and plans for a large number
of stations covering the entire city, the project endured into the
mid-1980s before finally being abandoned.
