1863 The beginning of the chronicle of Zaporozhye automobile plant. The company grew out of four small plants of the German colonist J. Koop, which specialized in production of agricultural machines and equipment. 1921 The plant, restored after the Revolution and Civil war, restarted its operation under the name "Kommunar", and in three years began producing 24 types of agricultural machines. 1929 The first domestic grain combine is manufactured. Totally 129 724 combines were produced during 1930-41, 1947-52. Until  1959 The beginning of passenger car building in Ukraine. On June 18 of this year ZAZ-965 "Zaporozhets" pilot sample was produced, and in a year its mass production was started. 1976 The millionth car was manufactured, and it was ZAZ-968#. 1979 Mass production of ZAZ-968# cars started, and in three years over 600 cars were produced every day. 1988 Mass production of front-wheel drive "Tavria" car started. 1993 The company celebrated 130th anniversary of its foundation. 1994 On June, 30 the company held the ceremony on occasion of production finishing of ZAZ-968M car, and started to produce only "Tavria" cars. 1998 On April 15 there was registration of Ukrainian-Korean Joint-Venture "AvtoZAZ-DAEWOO". Production of modernized "Tavria-Nova" cars and assembly of "Lanos", "Nubira", "Leganza" cars was started. 1999 Mass production of ZAZ-1103 "Slavuta" car started. 2001 Production of "SENS" car on "Lanos" car base with MeMZ engine was mastered. 2002 Production of "Mercedes" cars of class E and ML started. 2003 January - beginning of a semi-knocked down assembly of "Opel", "Astra", "Vectra", and "Corsa" motor vehicles. December - beginning of a full-scale production of VAZ motor vehicles. 2004 January - beginning of a full-scale production of "Pickup" and "Sens" motor vehicles equipped with gas fuel equipment.
